My COVID-19 - HISTORY 

2019 - 2020 As with everyone this virus took it's toll.
Although I did not do events inside or where folks
did not practice social distance or masking precautions,
I was very proactive doing Outdoor Weddings as well as
Graveside Services, and birthday parties etc. while
keeping my distance and masking as appropriate.

2021 - COVID-UPDATE -
I have been through a lot since the first of the year.
Having registered multiple times, for the covid vaccine,
On Feb. 26, 2021, I was absolutely hammered by covid
before I could get the vaccine - - - -.
I spent a lot of time at Midcoast Hospital In Brunswick
in a coma, on ventilator, collapsed lung 3 times,
pneumonia twice and a blood clot.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in ICU,
mid April & was discharged from Midcoast on April 21.
After a couple weeks at New England Rehab I was
discharged in mid May and haven't stopped since!
I still have fibrous scar tissue in my lungs and doctors
don't know if it will ever go away. By late summer I was
a little better than 75% and  walking up to 2 miles/day
with occasional jogging.
In Fall of 2021 I had carpal tunnel surgery both hands
as I lost feeling in 2 middle fingers, both hands - - .
I also had cataract surgery in both eyes as my vision
deteriorated dramatically after covid. As I built back up
I was playing pipes, a lot, and looking forward to 2022 !

Again, I would like to thank all the Doctors & Nurses
at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick who saved my life!
I would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at New
England Rehab, in Portland, who helped me in my rehab.

2022  – COVID-UPDATE -
I am all caught up on all my avaccines and boosters!
had a great 2022, thankful for all the prayers
from friends and family near and far! Prayer works!

2023 – COVID-UPDATE -
I was able to pipe for 55 events, all over Maine, some I
thought I would never be able to do again - -. Hands &
eyes good, Cholesterol was down on my last blood-work
and I take zero medications! Not bad for 74, hey?
Diet & exercise - - - !!!

Will start new year off at the Shrine Ceremonial, in Bangor
as I join the Anah Highlanders, piping for the event. Still
rebuilding core muscles etc. and don't know if I will ever
be 100%, but if this is the best I get I am grateful for it all!!!
